It is the goal of Special Education to ensure that each student with a disability has the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies consistent with his/her potential to achieve.

Special Education Services support instructional programs for students with disabilities in the division. Newport News Public Schools is currently providing services to 4,000+ students with disabilities in the various programs throughout the school division.

This site is designed to provide information to parents, teachers, students, and community members in an effort to better serve the needs of persons with disabilities, their families, and professionals who support them in the City of Newport News.
